A lot of writers think once you sell a piece and it hits the newstands, it's off the market. This couldn't be further from the truth. Plenty of magazines and websites will be happy to reprint your stories, poems, articles, or essays, as long as you still hold the copyright. You might as well get all the mileage you can out of your writing. Why not get paid twice for the same piece?
Here's a sampling of speculative markets that pay for reprints:- Allegory
- Bards and Sages Quarterly
- Cosmic Roots and Eldritch Shores (reopens 1/1/24)
- Daikaijuzine (reopens 1/1/24)
- Frozen Wavelets (temp closed)
- Illumen
- Neon (on hiatus)
- PodCastle (reopens 3/1/24)
- Pseudopod (reopens 8/9/24)
- Space Squid (currently closed to subs)
- Tales from the Moonlit Path (pays for fiction but not poetry)
