Haiku Pix Review is a quarterly magazine that pays 1 contributor's copy. They only accept unpublished poems not being submitted anywhere else. The website still shows their publication schedule from 2011, but 2012's is probably similar. If your work is too late for one issue, it will most likely be considered for the next.
Eric L. Houck, Jr. has a haiku blog with poems, links, and quotes. It doesn't appear to be updated very often (not like I have any room to talk) but there are some good haiku to be found there, including this one.
The late, great William J. Higginson had an article at Haijinx.org in 2001 about Basho and his use of humor in haiku and other forms. If you haven't read it, you should check it out.
The humor in Basho and Issa was what surprised me the most when I started reading them.
ReplyDeleteCharles - same here, I think that's why I like reading Issa so much.
