Open Reading Periods

Here are some haiku and speculative magazines with current open reading periods:

- Acorn: open through Aug 31st
- Frogpond: open through Aug 1st
- Goblin Fruit: open through Sept 1st (pays $5/poem)
- Ideomancer: open through July 31st (pays $0.03/word for fiction, $6/poem)

Star*Line, which used to have scheduled reading periods, is now open to submissions all the time.

Some upcoming deadlines

There are several markets that are open to submissions right now, but will be closing soon.

- Twilight Times and Space and Time will both be ending their current reading periods on August 5th.
- Acorn is open to haiku submissions (5 to 15 at a time) through August 31st.
- Abyss & Apex will be accepting speculative fiction submissions (up to 10,000 words) through August 31st.
- Goblin Fruit is open to fantasy poetry submissions through September 1st.

New Issues, Submission Deadlines

For your reading pleasure, the latest issues of these magazines are now online:

- Tales from the Moonlit Path - Their annual Halloween issue.
- From the Asylum - The first new issue since April, filled with goodies.
- Chrysanthemum - All the haiku you can eat.

Submission deadlines for many magazines are fast approaching. Make sure you get your story/poem/review/whatever in on time:

- Frogpond - November 15th
- Tales of the Unanticipated - November 15th (postmark deadline)
- Sybil's Garage - November 30th
- Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine - November 30th
- Vestal Review - November 30th
- Goblin Fruit - December 1st
