If you've never read Lilliput Review, issue #186 (Summer 2012) is a great issue to start with. Every issue of LR has great short poems, but this one seems like it's full of them. Haiku fans will enjoy finding poems by familiar names like George Swede, Ellen Compton, and Ayaz Daryl Nielson, and there are two very good haiku by Charles Gramlich and Ed Markowski. The issue ends with a somber (but good) poem by Noel Sloboda.
Single issues of LR can be obtained for just $1, and a 6-issue subscription is just $5. If you like short poetry, give Lilliput a try. More info can be found on the Lilliput Review website.

Empire author David Dunwoody was recently interviewed over at DarkMarkets, and it's quite a good interview. The re-released version of Empire is available from Amazon for $10.20.
Subscribers should be receiving the new issue of Lilliput Review (#171) any day now, along with the new broadside, 15 Poems by Ed Markowski. I haven't read the issue of Lilliput yet, but Ed's broadside is a great collection of 15 short poems. Non-subscribers can pick up a copy of either for a buck -- details on the Lilliput Broadsides page.
Basement Stories is a relatively new speculative journal that publishes fiction, poetry, and art. They'll consider previously published works as well as simultaneous submissions. Payment is 1¢/word for fiction and $10 per poem. (Rates are not set yet for artwork.)
Haiku fans should check out Temple Cone's sort-of sequel to Basho's famous autumn/crow haiku, which was posted on DailyHaiku last Friday.

The List of Near Perfect Books of Poems
Don Wentworth, editor of Lilliput Review, is compiling a list of perfect or near perfect books of poems (books that have more than just a few good poems scattered throughout them) and he needs your help!
If you have a book or two to add to the list, Don will send you the current two issues of Lilliput Review as a reward. (For current subscribers, I believe your subscription will be extended instead). If you've never read Lilliput Review, it's a top-quality magazine of short poems, and this is a great opportunity to check it out for free.
Even if you can't think of a book to add to the list, go check it out anyway. I'm sure you'll find at least a couple of books that you've never read (and probably should).
