Haiku Canada's 2010 Betty Drevniok Award competition is currently underway. The guidelines aren't up on the website yet, but you can find them over at Curtis Dunlap's site, Blogging Along Tobacco Road. There are three prizes of $100, $50, and $25, and the contest deadline is February 14th.
Speaking of contests, the Poetry Society of Virginia's 2010 Adult Poetry Contest closes on January 19th, and there is a category specifically for haiku series. The three prizes for that category are $50, $30, and $20.
Sybil's Garage reopens to submissions as of tomorrow (the 15th).
The Science Fiction Poetry Association has recently created a new online forum for members to discuss all things speculative. Members can sign up for free and talk about Star*Line, SFPA business, or whatever else strikes your fancy.

New SFPA Contest
That's right, the Science Fiction Poetry Association is now accepting submissions for its 2008 Poetry Contest. Submit up to 3 unpublished poems, 20 lines or fewer, on the theme of "Energy." The contest deadline is August 31st, and best of all, there's NO ENTRY FEE! Check out the guidelines for the list of cool prizes (including cash).
Star*Line, the SFPA's poetry journal, is still closed to submissions but should be reopening soon.
Dreams & Nightmares #80 was just released, and it's filled with great poems by the likes of Ann K. Schwader, Deborah P. Kolodji, and Terrie Leigh Relf. There's also an alternate take on a familiar fairy tale by Joshua Gage, and a powerful short poem by Charles A. Gramlich.

It's Rhysling Time
It's that time of year again... time for those of you who are SFPA members to get your Rhysling nominations in. You can nominate one short poem (1-49 lines) and one long poem (50+ lines), but they have to be in by Feb. 18th. The complete guidelines for submitting a nomination can be found here.
Also, Black Petals #42 (the first online issue) just went live. Even though it's on a screen instead of a page, it's still the same quality of stories and poems that the Black Petals team has been bringing consistently for years. This issue has two featured poets, Kendall Evans and Gary Every.

SFPA Bookstore
Gromagon Press is nice enough to host the Science Fiction Poetry Association Bookstore, a place to find information on books published by SFPA members. You can find my chapbook, Bits and Pieces, listed there (page 4), along with many other fine books by very talented authors. Take a look around and help support the small press.
